U.S. Postage Stamps First Issued in 1870 - The National Bank Notes
Printed by the National Bank Note Co. without Secret Marks on hard white paper, perforated 12 on 200 subject plates, with or without grills. Note that other than by grill, Scott 134-144 are indistinguishable from Scott 145-155. The 7¢ stamp was not issued until 1871.
