In a recent issue of the American Philatelist,
"I Had No Idea" - a "sales talk" by Tom
Horn- August 2002, it was brought up that there are two areas that are
presenting identification problems for many (APS) members, the Bank
Note Issues and the Washington Franklins.
In that vein, we are providing this Bank Note Worksheet, in addition
to our previously well-received Washington
Franklin Worksheet . We are somewhat
surprised with the denominations of the Bank Notes that seem to be
giving the most trouble, namely the 3¢, 6¢, 7¢, and 10¢ stamps, since,
other than the 3¢, these are the Banknotes with the more easily
discerned "secret" marks. (see:
Secret Marks of the U.S. Bank Note Issues)
